What TS/SCI Means

TS/SCI is a Top Secret clearance plus access to Sensitive Compartmented Information, which is intelligence information controlled through formal access programs. The clearance is granted after a Tier 5 investigation; SCI access is then approved by the agency that owns the information, and the person is read in to each program they need.

Eligibility vs. Access

A candidate can hold SCI eligibility without current access to your program. Being read in again is generally faster than a new investigation, but it still takes time and depends on the agency. We record exactly what each candidate holds so your transition plan does not promise day-one access that the customer cannot grant.

Speed Matters Most in Recompetes

TS/SCI hiring is most painful right after a recompete win, when the clock to stand up a team starts immediately. We start before award: we identify incumbent and non-incumbent candidates, secure letters of intent for key personnel and keep the pipeline warm until the decision.

TS/SCI FAQs

Can TS/SCI work be done remotely?
Rarely. Most SCI work happens in a SCIF on the government or contractor site, so location is a key part of every search.
How do you handle incumbent capture during a recompete?
Respectfully and within the rules. We contact incumbent staff through normal recruiting channels, explain the transition, and never use non-public information.
Do you recruit TS/SCI candidates with polygraphs?
Yes. Many SCI programs also require a CI or full-scope polygraph. See our polygraph recruiting page.
How fast can you deliver a TS/SCI shortlist?
It depends on the skill set and location. For a recent recompete transition we delivered a vetted shortlist in nine days.
