What a Secret Clearance Covers
A Secret clearance is eligibility to access information that could cause serious damage to national security if disclosed. It is the most common clearance on DoD contracts, granted after a Tier 3 investigation based on the SF-86, and the cleared workforce is now kept current through continuous vetting rather than fixed reinvestigations.

Secret Is Common. Good Secret Candidates Are Not.
Plenty of people hold a Secret clearance. Far fewer also hold the certifications your contract requires, such as DoD 8140 baseline certifications for IT roles, live near the work site, and are actually open to moving. Job boards fill up with clearance-first résumés that miss the second and third requirements.
We screen in the order your contracting officer will: clearance status, then the required certifications, then location and availability, then fit.
Active vs. Current Matters
An active clearance means the person is currently in a position that requires it. A current clearance means eligibility has not expired but the person is not in a cleared role right now, and reinstating access takes time. We confirm which one a candidate has and tell you plainly how that affects the start date.
